Join the women of New City as we roll out a new ministry for mothers in 2018 — Missional Motherhood Ministry

The PURPOSE of this new ministry at New City is to celebrate Christ by engaging and encouraging mothers of all ages as we seek Biblical direction in living intentionally as mothers. To serve Cincinnati by providing an opportunity to connect with our neighborhood mothers.

You must RSVP on this Event post.

UPDATE as of January 3rd:

We’re excited to announce that we’ve secured childcare workers for all children – including those on the waitlist!

We’re still looking for more childcare workers so that we can continue to accept children. (sign up below to help with childcare)

Childcare registration has reopened for those who would still like to register. Please RSVP by January 18th (pending availability).

Lap babies under one year can stay with their moms.

If you’d like to sign up to work the paid childcare, you can do so below (under “roles to fill”).

We will meet at New City on Thursday, January 25th, 9 – 11:30. The format will include coffee and breakfast, a speaker and small group discussion. Come to learn, engage with others and be encouraged! There is nothing to prepare or read prior.

JANUARY SESSION will focus on our identity as mothers and will incorporate ideas about teaching Scripture to our children.

We will have lots of resources and ideas for you.  Come, let’s learn and share together!

There will be a “Swap Table” Day of only where you can bring anything you want to donate that morning and leave it on the table and take anything you want for free that you could use!  (baby clothes, unused diapers/formula, kids toys, etc)

Can’t make it to this one? Please save the future dates and stay tuned:

Saturday, April 28th, 9 – 1130a

Thursday, July 26th, 9 – 1130a

Thurs, October 25th, 9 – 1130a

Hi ladies! We are so encouraged so many of you have shown interest in this ministry! So much so, that we need to put a “hold” on childcare from this point on in the list, moving forward. We hope this will be temporary.

Anyone from here on out who RSVP’s for your child/children will be put on a waitlist (very much like what was done for the hymn-sing).

We are hoping to find more childcare workers, and we are asking that if you or anyone from the church you know may be interested in serving in childcare ($12/hr) for this or further events, please let us know!

Thanks so much!

Abby Brown on 12/20/2017

I am jumping on board! Totally understand the waitlist deal. Thanks for organizing, ladies! Josh (3) and Emmy (1)

Carolyn Oxley on 12/20/2017

I’m cool with being on the waitlist but if there’s room… niles (2) and Lenny will stay w me!

Stephanie Lyell on 12/26/2017

I’d like to be put on the waitlist, Jonah (2) however I might not be able to come depending on when our baby comes (due date is 1-26)

Nancy Musser on 12/27/2017

If you rsvped for more than 1, not including kids in the comments, can you please confirm if you are bringing another mom or if that was just your children on accident so we can have an accurate headcount? Thanks! So excited for this

Megan Frade on 12/27/2017

Judah (2) and Elijah (1) for the waitlist! Thank you!

Karina Rice on 12/30/2017

Zeek (6mo) wait list

Nancy Musser on 12/30/2017

karina – lap babies under 1 will stay with us as of now, so you are good to join with zeek!

if you are looking for a FUN, character building ministry to enjoy and participate in with your girls- you might want to discuss starting an American Heritage Girl troop -  our  4 dtc girls were blessed to have as a leader one of the original planners and founders of AHG as their leader and to have participated in the second AHG troop to ever have come into existence and we dtc ladies were blessed to volunteer – one as co leader and others of us as volunteers -
here is their mission statement and a link to their website in case some of you might be interested -
there is also a Christian Boy Scout program  called Trail Life USA -for your boys that you might want to mention to your husbands to see iif any of the guys would be interested in starting a troop
have fun with your kids

“Building women of integrity through service to God, family, community and country.”

American Heritage Girls is the premier national character development organization for young women that embraces Christian values and encourages family involvement.

Nancy Musser on 01/04/2018

Thanks Dee! Love that… I did Girl Scouts as a child which was a great Experience and hearing about the Christian version with American Heritage girls sounds awesome and something I would love my girls to do

Dee Vincent on 01/04/2018

you’re welcome -  it’s a great program -  it was great  when our girls were in it  the year the first troops started and they were just starting to develop the program with only a couple of troops here in this area (about 100 girls all together)
AHG has grown to have 43,00 members and a 1000 troops(loc in all 50 states) -  now being a long established national program they have as much to offer to the  kids as GS, and the girls would not be forced to apologize for being a Christian or be told to keep their faith to themselves like they would in the Girl Scouts and other scouting programs

Nancy Musser on 01/08/2018

There will be a “Swap Table” Day of only where you can bring anything you want to donate that morning and leave it on the table and take anything you want for free that you could use!  (baby clothes, unused diapers/formula, kids toys, etc)

Carolyn Oxley on 01/09/2018

I rsvp’d for 2 and that includes Niles. Is that what I’m supposed to do or just rsvp 1?

Nancy Musser on 01/09/2018

Please rsvp 1 for a mom (you)  and then list all kids/ ages in the comments— that will help us plan for lap babies both for this time and future

Carolyn Oxley on 01/09/2018

Ok I fixed it. And I’ll have Niles (2yo) and Lenny (6mo.)

Brittany Sammons on 01/09/2018

Ladies, I am soooo sad to do this, but I think I need to back out as I’m considering the preschool drop-off and pick-up schedule (I’d have to show up late and leave early as it is) and another commitment I was going to have to cancel that day to make it work! I am excited about these opportunities, and I will mark my calendar for the future dates as they should work! Thank you for working so hard to make this happen – what a wonderful ministry to the women at New City! Please open up child care spots for Josh and Emily – I am sure they will be snapped up! ;)

Becca Strand on 01/11/2018

I am sad you can’t be there as well, Abby! I totally understand the busy schedule and we will look forward to having you at future meetings!

Marcia Mauger on 01/23/2018

Atalie (12 weeks)- lap baby.

Also, does anyone have a baby play mirror that they’d like to get rid of? I was thinking it might help make tummy time more enjoyable :P

I’m so looking forward to this!! Thank you for putting this on.

Cassie Szugye on 01/23/2018

I have one! I’ll bring it Thursday

Stacy Lehman on 01/23/2018

Yoon Kramer on 01/25/2018

I also have to Missed today. Amalia still has a fever and I thought she would be better by today.

Katie Jumper on 01/25/2018

Nancy Musser on 01/25/2018

There is now a “missional motherhood” group where we can easily share materials and events going forward I just invited u all to, so please except that request when you get it for easier information!

Stacy Lehman on 01/25/2018

Thanks to everyone who helped plan the event today and make this group happen. It was so encouraging!
