We are looking forward to the New City Women’s Retreat this weekend!  Here are details to help you prepare.

INFO FOR EVERYONE

CHECK-IN

Check-in on Friday is from 5:45 to 7:00 p.m. for those staying overnight. Please arrive well before 7:00 p.m. to allow time to check in and eat dinner before we begin the program at 7:10 p.m. Check in will be in the picnic shelter next to Ellison Hall. Dinner will be available 6:00-7:00 p.m. in Schindler Banquet Center.

For those coming on Saturday only, please arrive at 8:30 a.m. for check-in. We will start at 9:00 a.m. in Schindler Banquet Center.

DIRECTIONS AND PARKING INFORMATION

The address for the AIA Retreat Center is 651 Taylor Drive, Xenia, Ohio 45385. The most direct route is taking I-71 N to exit 28 for OH-48 toward Lebanon. There is a highway option that is slightly longer on I-75 but unpredictable with rush hour traffic. As you approach the AIA Retreat Center, you will pass Legacy Village, a community of retirement condos to your right. When you get to the Martin Luther & Moody Drive intersection, turn left. Parking is behind Schindler Banquet Center, noted on map. Dorms are in Ellison Hall, and our meeting space is in Schindler.

FOOD

Meals are included in the cost of the retreat: Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast (for those staying overnight), and Saturday lunch. We will also have snacks, coffee and tea available throughout the day, but you are welcome to bring your own snacks if you want.

After the retreat officially ends on Saturday afternoon, we will have an optional dinner at Acapulco Mexican Restaurant. The restaurant is located just a few minutes from the AIA Retreat Center in Xenia, and the address is 88 Xenia Towne Square, Xenia, OH 45385. Please plan to join us for some delicious Mexican food and maybe a margarita as well!

INFO FOR OVERNIGHT GUESTS

LODGING

We will be staying in dorm-style rooms with three people to a room. Bathrooms and showers are located down the hall from the bedrooms.

WHAT TO BRING

Bed linens, towels, and washcloths are provided but you will need to bring your own toiletries. You will want to bring a Bible, pen and paper/notebook for teaching and quiet time. Also, you might consider bringing your own pillow, and a water bottle.

**Quiet time and some small group time may be outdoors, so consider bringing outerwear for cool weather and a towel/blanket in case the ground is wet.

Please feel free to contact Amanda Hall with any questions at amandamariehall@gmail.com or 513-315-7954.

Our retreat speaker this year will be Melissa Bush.

From Melissa: I have been a follower of Jesus for 33 years. What an amazing gift to live daily by His grace, love and mercy!  I am a native of the Cincinnati area and attend Faith Bible Church where my husband is an associate pastor.  My two favorite things are being married to my most gracious and godly husband for almost 25 years and being a momma to four amazing children all through the gift of adoption.   Reading the Bible, praying, spending time watching a sunset, taking a walk, holding my husband’s hand, visiting with a friend, traveling, or eating a scoop of Graeter’s ice cream are some of the things that bring a smile to my face.  I wish there was time to sit down with each of you and hear about your journey through life.  I know each life demonstrates that there is an amazing God who cares and delights in you!

I was so surprised and excited to read that Melissa Bush will be our speaker! She was my Student Venture leader at Loveland, so I’ve known her for 20+ (!) years, and she’s fantastic. Very wise, loving and fun! I can’t wait to learn from her again. :)

Courtney Frydryk on 09/12/2017

Is there an option/is it okay to attend only Friday evening?

Cara Leger on 09/19/2017

Is anyone else having trouble registering for this on brown paper tickets? It is saying this event is not available yet.

Katie Jumper on 09/19/2017

Cara, I just went in and it said “sales have ended for this event”.

Cara Leger on 09/19/2017

So, is this sold out? Or is there a registration error somewhere? Leaders, please advise! Thanks!

Amanda Hall on 09/19/2017

I’m sorry for the confusion with registration! We definitely have tickets available! The website details were correct but somehow the link went to the wrong place. I updated the website details above, and here is the link that worked for me this afternoon:

The planning team has been working hard to create a refreshing and fun weekend that will be food for your souls. Our speaker, Melissa, is such a delight – you all are going to love her wisdom and gentleness! We’ll also have worship, crafting, yoga and coffee flowing! It will for sure be worth your time!

Heads up that my registration is for Saturday only because I’m not staying overnight and will not need a room or breakfast. But I will be there Friday night!

Cara Leger on 10/05/2017

I will also very likely be attending on Friday night, but not spending the night.

Amanda Hall on 10/07/2017
