Emergency Need: Serve the City with Interfaith Hospitality Network
Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) has an emergency need for a host at the Grace Place the week of January 27th. The congregation scheduled to host is no longer available, and New City would love to offer assistance in filling some of the needs.
This is a great way for community groups, families, and friends to serve together. Please consider volunteering your time or donating food for the week.
*Note that no overnight host is needed for January 28th, 29th, 30th.
Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) is a family homeless shelter located in East Walnut Hills that partners with the faith community to provide shelter and food for families in need.
Each week different congregations in the city host 4 families for the week, starting Sunday at 5pm to the following Sunday at 6am. In most cases this is done at IHN’s own facility. New City will be hosting at Grace Place, which is located in College Hill.
New City will begin hosting families starting Sunday evening, January 27th through Sunday morning, February 3rd. This is a great opportunity for New City to serve those who are experiencing homelessness in our city.

As we prepare for this week, we need a lot of help to make it happen. New City will be providing meals for the families (breakfast, lunch and dinner), people to serve the meals, activities for kids, and an overnight host most nights.
We are asking for a total of 25 volunteers (3-4 volunteers per day).

You can sign up to bring a food item to the church. Please return all food items on Sunday, January 27th (or if needed, coordinate with Samantha Myers to drop off or pick up your item).
INFORMATION ON HOW TO SERVE
- Greeting / Dinner Volunteers: Arrive at Grace Place between 5-5:15pm. You’re responsible for getting dinner items and making & serving the meal.
- Activity Volunteer: Arrive 5-5:15pm. Help serve dinner and plan a small activity for kids. (Bring a kids movie to watch, a game like Uno, a craft, or just bring new books to read!)
- At least one of the 3 volunteers needs to stay until 9pm.
- Overnight Host: Arrive at 8:30pm, and stay until families are picked up between 6-6:30am.

Sunday January 27th: Lasagna and sides
Monday January 28th: Mexican/Tacos
Tuesday January 29th: Spaghetti and sides
Wednesday January 30th: Chili
Thursday January 31st: Chicken and Rice
Friday February 1st: Order Pizza
Saturday February 2nd: Meatloaf and sides
