Discerning and Exercising Spiritual Gifts

We’ve been talking about spiritual gifts the last few weeks as we’ve worked through 1 Corinthians 12 on Sunday mornings. In case you missed it, here are links to the last two sermons:

It’s crucial for our mission to celebrate Christ and serve Cincinnati that we steward well all the gifts God has given us as a church. Part of that means discerning and utilizing our spiritual gifts. If you get a chance this week, take a look at Tim Keller’s article “Discerning and Exercising Spiritual Gifts.” It won’t take long to read, but spend some time (at least 30 minutes) thinking and praying about how God has gifted you. Then grab a journal and jot down some answers to the questions he poses in the “Affinity, Ability, Opportunity” section at the end. Dream about how God might use you to serve the church and the city and be a blessing to your neighbors.
