Hark | Advent sermon series

Hark is a Middle English word we don’t use much anymore, except in Christmas carols. It means “Listen up! Pay attention!” And for us at New City, that’s what we’re hoping the season of Advent will cause us to do. With all the shopping and busyness and hustle and bustle, it’s easy to put things on cruise control; and then before you know it, we’re ringing in 2018. But we want to slow down a bit, and hark to the meaning of Christmas.

During our Sunday gatherings we’re going to use the outline of Charles Wesley’s Christmas carol, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, as a way of exploring the meaning of Christmas, and really the meaning of Christianity as whole. This is a great series to invite friends to and we really hope you’ll join us.
